ROMAN DELACEY FITCH

Before that, he spent the 1990s as a prop's buyer for Portuguese television, an experience he credits as his real MFA.

His work has been acquired by collectors, exhibited in spaces that have since changed their names, and reviewed in publications that called it "uncomfortably accurate" and "a kind of portraiture the subjects will not want to own but cannot stop thinking about."

He does not attend his own openings. We did, however, meet at the Islet Coffee Lab in Hong Kong after Art Basel last year.
